Our
renovated cottage includes
new kitchen and appliances, new furniture and new picture windows. The large deck (shown here) is ideal for outside meals and provides a great view of the adjacent water.
The
cottage is on East Sampson Island, an island that is among many other
islands in McGregor Bay making it ideal for boating.
McGregor Bay is
connected to the larger waters of Georgian Bay allowing boat access
to Little Current and Baie Fine among other areas of interest. The waters
were charted in 1998 making travel in the area safe for first time visitors.
Although your own boat is not absolutely necessary we highly recommend
one in order to get the most out your holiday. We suggest using Navionics which is an excellent Marine GPS app. We send you a pre planned route file and brief instructions for downloading and using the app which is free for an initial period.
If guests would prefer to be guided in they can use the services of a water taxi from either marina. This will typically be a larger boat which can take much of the luggage and some passengers, which will also speed up the trip. This service is approx. $130. and should be booked from the Marina ahead of time.
You should bring all
your food when you arrive as the nearest convenience store is at the McGregors Landing (Formerly - J & G marina) which
is about 16 kilometers from the cottage. The towns of Espanola and Little
Current both have good shopping.
You need to provide your
own bed linen, towels and dishtowels. You are also responsible for your
own life jackets.
Rental rates for various weeks are shown on the availability page. 50% deposit due on reservation.
The remaining amount including security deposit ($200) is due 90 days prior to start of rental. The cleaning/security deposit will be returned within 30 days after the end of the rental term, provided the cottage is left clean and undamaged.
Rates are in Canadian funds. We are unable to remain exposed
to fluctuating exchange rates of other currencies over long periods of
time. For your convenience, we are happy to accept payments
in US currency. Your deposit will be converted to the Canadian
equivalent when it is received. When your final payment is received,
including the security and cleaning deposit, that will also be converted
to Canadian funds at the rate prevailing at the time of receipt. When
refunding your deposit, we will calculate the total amount we have received
from you in the Canadian equivalent, deduct the quoted rental rate, and
adjust the remaining balance as converted back to US dollars. You
will be provided with a full accounting at that time.
Full refund if cancellation is requested 120 days before rental date.
Refund of 50% of the total rental fee if cancellation is requested 60 days before rental date.
No refund for cancellation less than 60 days prior to rental date.
The full security deposit will be always be refunded on any cancellation.
